19 Jul 2007 - 09 Sep 2007

20 July - 02 Sept

From the Giardini in Venice to the Holmes à Court Gallery in Perth this exhibition contains the work of twelve Australian architects and nine Australian artists. It incorporates architectural drawings, photographs and models alongside specially commissioned artworks, including large-scale photographs, a long wall painting, continuous video loop and aural environment to immerse the visitor in a range of experiences. "Micro Macro City presents eight highly-specific portraits of Australian urban conditions which together form a cumulative and comparative representation of everyday Australian metropolitan life. In parallel, twelve architectural projects are presented that demonstrate a relationship to the issues raised by each urban condition." The Holmes à Court Gallery gratefully acknowledges the support of the Royal Australian Institute of Architects in the construction and development of the 2006 Venice Achitecture Biennale, Australian exhibition.
