The Western Australian Fibre and Textile Association’s (WAFTA) Hanging by a Thread exhibition is an opportunity for established and emerging artist members from the city and rural areas to exhibit together in the large, prestigious and centrally located Holmes à Court Gallery @ no.10. 171 exhibition entries have been received from 23 regional and 88 city members. WAFTA has outreached to WA artists and since Hanging by a Thread was announced in November 2019, there has been a significant increase in membership across student membership (18), regional membership (23) and indigenous members (4). The Hanging by a Thread exhibition will feature over 170 new fibre textile artworks, making it the largest in WAFTA’s history.
