Presented anew for the Holmes à Court Gallery at Vasse Felix, Lesley Meaney | Becoming Australian is a culmination of five decades of the art work of Lesley Meaney. This show unfolds as a sensorial experience of fiery sunburnt colours, luminous greens and deep earthy tones. The works evoke a sense of place and belonging, as a sustained, experimental and unique response to the Australian landscape. For Lesley Meaney, each new body of work is another journey, another discovery, another set of artistic challenges to resolve along the way towards becoming Australian.
The exhibition will coincide with the launch of a book featuring Lesley’s work, Lesley Meaney Becoming Australian an Artist’s Journey. All proceeds from the sale of the book will be donated to support a brighter future for children with brain cancer.
