Our aim was to capture the spirit of our State’s North West with handcrafted pieces of jewellery using the colours, textures and forms represented in each work of art.
The rugged landscape depicted in the paintings has been reflected in the jewellery by using various materials native to the area, combined with the lustrous pearl, thereby creating a wonderful contrast.

Artisans of the Sea
Artisans jewellery workshop consists of four young, talented, enthusiastic designer jewellers under the leadership of Simon Henderson, Master Jeweller.
The North West of Western Australia which inspired the paintings and delivered the pearls is appropriate in this, the Year of the Outback.
A further collaboration with Silvia Car, Western Australian fashion designer with an outlet in Milan, international clientele and recognition, is to be presented during the exhibition. Silvia is sponsored by the MG Kailis group, and will be presenting her fashions inspired by the Year of the Outback, complemented by pearl jewellery from Artisans of the Sea, at a morning tea charity event which will be held at the Gallery on Thursday 6th June. Bookings can be made through Anne Meredith, Gallery Manager.
One would be hard pressed to deny the connection between the paintings and the jewellery created in their honour. For an insight into the jeweller’s imagination come to the Holmes à Court Gallery between the 1st and 16th June.
